After upgrade VS 15.8.3, the menu and toolbars of the VX are not enabled.

The things I tried.

1. Uninstall and install the VX from the Visual Studio Tools menu extension and update > Failed

2. Download and reinstall stand alone VX > Failed

3. Attempt to install administrator rights > Failed

All you have left is to uninstall the VS and reinstall it.
I really don't want to do this.
(unless there is a guarantee of success)

What else can I try?
I've wasted hours already and I don't want to waste any more time here.

The version of VX is 2217.
I tried to upgrade the VS and change the VX license to the latest one, but the menu is not visible and I can't register the license.

When you run the exe installer, "VA_X_Setup2217.exe" here, is the VS2017 check box enabled, so that VA thinks that this IDE is installed, and VA can be installed for this IDE?

Can you please look and see if you have:

IDE tools menu -> Options -> Extension Manager -> Load per user extensions when running as administrator

turned On or Off. If this is turned Off can you please try turning this On and see if it makes any difference.

After this problem, I checked the Tools > Extensions menu in the VS to disable VX and spent several days.

And I looked at this post today and checked the options.
I was reminded that it was already checked, so I pressed to use VX again and I restarted VS.

Oh, my God.
I finally see the menu.
I think I've been helped by a master. (It's you.)

A real expert can be fixed just by the side of a problem.
- This is a joke from our development team.

Thank you.

Silly as it sounds, I am quite familiar with this effect. The number of times having someone look at the problem with you just makes the problem disappear, without any changes... I am just glad this is fixed for you. Hopefully it will stay fixed.
