Accidentally created a VA snippet with no title using "Create VA Snippet from selection..." and I am not able to delete it. I checked the Cpp.tpl in documents and settings where it stores my other snippets and the snippet with no title doesn't exist. When I delete it through the snippet editor in Visual Studio it reappears as soon as I open the snippet editor again. I have tried giving a title to this snippet, but this creates a new snippet (that I can see in the Cpp.tpl) and the untitled snippet returns as soon as I launch the snippet editor again (and upon editing the newly titled snippet it crashes Visual Studio with no debugging prompt). I have tried deleting this snippet and creating another snippet without a title, but the old one still comes back. I've tried restarting visual studio and my computer after deleting this snippet but this did not work either.

Is there anywhere else this snippet might be stored so that I can remove it?

I'm running:
Visual Assist X - Version 10.4.16.49.0 built 2008.09.09
Visual Studio 2005 - Version 8.0.50727.762 (SP.050727-7600)

Can you zip up and send me all of your .tpl files please. Please submit the files via the form:

http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp

including this thread ID or URL in the description, so we can match it up.

I can then see if I can reproduce this problem. All of the VA Snippets should be stored in the .tpl files, so you should be seeing this extra item here.

I am especially concerned by the crash you are seeing.

Awesome thanks. We should be upgrading our license soon and I'll DL the new build at that point and test.

Thanks!

Hello,

I am using Windows 7, Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Assist X Version 10.7.*

For anyone who got similar problems I want to add that this cpp.tpl file is stored once under
User\\AppData\\Roaming\\VisualAssist\\Autotext\\
but under
User\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\VisualStudio\\10.0\\Extensions\\Whole Tomato Software\\Visual Assist X\\10.7.1916.0\\Autotext\\Latest\\
too. The path where my snippets are stored as I expect seems to be the first one.

killfrogg the first path is where your actual snippets are stored, the second path is a copy of the default snippets that ship with VA. When you first install the two sets of snippet files are identical, but they diverge over time. If you ever want to revert to the default snippets you can simply copy the desired .tpl file from the Latest directory to your user specific directory.
