VS2010 works differently, so you have to use a slightly different approach. I have emailed you about this.

Hi,

one of our Users left the company and someone else took over his computer. Of course he also wants to use the Visual Assist X license on this computer to work which I am not able to figure out how to do it / transfer it to his user profile. Noone seems to have stored the original license information (doh!), but it is still the same machine.

Another thing is that we plan to implement silent installs for future Visual Assist X installations including licenses soon, too. Could you help me with that?

Thank you very much!

Do you have any idea of the email address the license key was linked to? If so please use this form to contact us, with a lost key enquiry, which will route it directly to the right person:

I have also sent you an email about doing a silent install.

Hi

I am installing Visual Assist with VS2010 during a Win7 deployment, it installs ok but only works on the profile that the software was installed on and not any other profile. Is there any way to set Visual Assist to install on all users profiles?

Thanks.

VS2010 installs extensions into a user specific directory, so VA is installed only for the current user. As a result you are going to have to install VA for each of the user profiles on this machine separately.

Unfortunately this is a VS2010 design decision that we have no control over.

Feline - would you please re-send that email, but to another email address? My company spam filter might have eaten it. Please send to scott dot kiddle at gmail dot com. Thanks!

Hi Feline

Thanks for your reply.

Has the silent deployment method changed for Windows 7 since version 1842? If so please can you send me the details.

Cheers

skiddle, I have sent a new email to your gmail address, hopefully you will get it this time.

piggy, no, there have not been any changes. What you have been doing should keep on working, and if not, please contact us and we will try to help.
