Hi I have just installed VA_X_Setup1437.exe and now I want to
disable it for Visual Studio 2005.

I have done a regsvr32 /u vassistnet.dll followed by

devenv /setup

But I have still the VAssistX menu in the visual studio IDE. How can
I remove this menu item.

do you have other IDE's installed? if not the easiest solution is to simply un-install VA. if you do have other IDE's installed then why do you want to disable VA in one of them? personally i would have thought you would want it to be active in all of them

You need one more command. See our updated FAQ:

Note: If you remove from VS2005 you lose VA X from VS.NET.
