Hi,

I'm getting regular freezes with VS whenever either 'Parse all files when opening a project' is selected or I manually open a .cpp files in VS in another solution.
Only solution is to kill VS and restart.
Definitely seems that Visual Assist is caught in some kind of infinite loop.
I hope this can be fixed ASAP as it is very annoying ;)

Thanks,
Lorcan

Thank you for the update, this is very good news! We are actively working on this problem, and are aiming to have a fix in our next build.

Thanks a lot, since disabling 'Allow new files to be opened in the preview tab' I haven't had another crash yet - fingers crossed ;)

Thank you. A few other users are seeing similar problems, and for them turning Off the IDE setting:

Tools | Options | Environment | Tabs and Windows | Preview Tab | Allow new files to be opened in the preview tab

is stopping the hang or crash. Can you please try turning off this setting on your system? If it stops the problem this suggests you are seeing the same problem, and we are working on a fix for it.

I'll grab the minidump some time this week, I'm very busy with a project atm, thanks.

Apologies, this should not be happening. Firstly, can you please go to:

VA Options -> System Info -> Copy Info

and paste the details (from the clipboard) into your reply. This will give us the basic information about your setup.

If you are not using the latest version of VA, 2341.2, can you please update to this version, since running the latest version will make it easier to try and find out what is going on here.

Can you please try and grab a mini dump of devenv.exe next time you get this problem, hopefully this will give us some idea of what is going wrong here. This page explains how to do so:
