VA Outline : no update when switch to other file : Until I click on it;

| sorry and forget it! I found a Auto-update switch in context-menu of VA outline. is tricky and i don't know when and how I turn if off by accident for some reason, it's not very obivious anyway. |

| Glad you found the solution. Sometimes things get toggled if you hit, by accident, a letter while a context menu is open. This has happened to me before now, and since it wasn't a deliberate change, it can be quite confusing. |

| Thanks for posting the update. I actually ran into the same behavior recently and thought the outline had stopped refreshing because of an indexing issue. I never noticed the Auto-update option in the context menu either. It might be helpful if that setting were a bit more visible since it's easy to overlook when troubleshooting. Glad it turned out to be a simple fix. |

I do understand the problem of a setting you are not used to getting toggled. I spent far to long a little while ago trying to solve a problem with the Open File in Solution dialog showing far to many files, millions in this case, all due to a setting that got turned on by accident.
But having the setting in the context menu makes it fairly easy to discover. Far better than hiding it somewhere in a rather large options dialog.
This doesn't help much if you don't know to look for it, obviously. The VA Outline context menu is fairly short, as these things go, making the option not to hard to find.
Any thoughts on how we make this more obvious, without being silly about it? We don't want to clutter the interface with "status markers" without good reason, but we don't want to hide information to much either. |
