var is not recognized by VA here, although at the declaration (out int ...) its ok. Note that the navigation AND definition bar is empty although the caret is on the variable. In the line above and below the Nav bar shows the current method name.
That is a bit odd, so thank you for the screen shot showing the code. It turns out that the trigger is declaring a new variable at the start of the line. If you declare "bool parse" a line above, you can still assign the result to "parse" without any problems, but having the declaration at the start of the line is the cause of the "out int" variable not being picked up as a variable declaration by VA:
