Hi,
When an element is pasted from VA paste menu, only the first occurrence of the multi-caret selection is replaced. It is annoying because it requires to cancel the replacement done, reselect the same elements with multi-caret and paste the normal way (Ctrl+V), which is working (now that the selected item in VA paste menu has become the default item to paste via standard paste).
I expect VA paste to work with multi-caret the same way as standard paste does.

Unfortunately this is currently a known limitation of VA's clipboard history menu:

As a partial work around you can try using the Windows clipboard history feature, via Windows Key + V |
