I was noticing MSVS 2015.3 kept crashing to desktop with no error presented at random times, so I eventually became fed up and attached WinDbg to take note of where the crash was occurring (Visual Studio's safe mode and logging flags proved useless).

It turns out that VA's implementation of libclang is causing issues, perhaps freeing memory out of bounds:

I disabled code inspection for the time being, but perhaps VAX's staff might find this useful.

VAX Info:

Build 2223, Windows 10 x64, Visual Studio 2015.3 w/ no Extensions installed *besides* VAX.

As a workaround for the problem, turning Off:

VA Options -> Code Inspection (beta) -> Enable Code Inspection

should fix this problem. Is there any chance of getting a mini dump or two of this problem first though? VA 2223 contains fixes to try and stop the crashes from code inspection, but clearly we have missed a case. So getting more details would be very helpful.

If this is possible, please submit the files via the form:

including this thread ID or URL in the description, so we can match it up.
