Hi everybody,

I update my VAX to 2007 with VS2013.

I've got a little mistake with syntax coloring, especially with class.
I choose a custom color in VAX setup, but it don't want to apply it and when I come back in parameters, the default color is selected, not mine :

In this other picture, you can see that class color is the VS2013 default color :

I already try to change color many time, restart VS2013 without success.

EDIT : This trouble append in C++ and C#.
EDIT #2 : Same problem with VS2012, work fine with VS2010.

Thanks in advance.

My computer : Windows 8.1 Enterprise French x64
VS: VS2010 Ultimate, VS2012 Ultimate, VS2013 Ultimate.

Hi, I'm having the same issue as well but with VS2010. If I turn on enhanced coloring the default ugly blue (I have a blackish background) shows up. None of my colors ever show up. I tried reinstalling, turning off all extensions, and nothing. I use Powercommands for VS2010 and Productivity tools for extensions.

Thanks,
Sam.

Can you please both of you try disabling the following setting?

Tools -> Options... -> Text Editor -> C/C++ -> Advanced -> Disabled Semantic Colorization = true

Hi Accord I don't have that option in VS2010. Is there another option to try? Here's the funny thing, on a different PC and on a couple of VM's with the same settings it works fine. I'm having the issue with a vmware vm environment and on my main system. So at this time I'm forced to turn it off.

Thanks,
Sam.

I do what you preconize and it's work for C++ in VS2012 and VS2013, but this option doesn't exist in C#.

That's already a good point for C++ ...

Please try the following:
Start Visual Studio
Using Visual Studio Extension Manager, Disable Visual Assist X
Restart Visual Studio
Exit Visual Studio
Start Visual Studio
Using Visual Studio Extension Manager, Enable Visual Assist X
Restart Visual Studio

Does it help?

semhs:
Can you please check what Visual Assist colors do you have set in the Visual Studio options dialog?

Tools -> Options... -> Environment -> Fonts and colors

What color is set for "VA Class" and alike? Is it the color you expect? It should be the same as in VA Options dialog.
If not the same: does setting a new color here help?

I disable and reenable VAX accross Visual Studio Extension Manager without any change.
When Semantic Colorization is disable for C++ it's work, class are good colored.

The trick with enable/disable VAX is for C# ?

My computer : Windows 8.1 Enterprise French x64
VS: VS2010 Ultimate, VS2012 Ultimate, VS2013 Ultimate.

Yes. Sometimes it helps.

The same question to you as well:
Can you please check what Visual Assist colors do you have set in the Visual Studio options dialog?

Tools -> Options... -> Environment -> Fonts and colors

What color is set for "VA Class" and alike? Is it the color you expect? It should be the same as in VA Options dialog.

Hi Accord, that worked for me. Not sure what the issue is but setting the colors through VA does not keep the setting but setting them from the VS options works fine. There must be something unique going on here because as I said this is happening on 2 systems and it's working fine everywhere else.

This workaround is good enough for me.

Thanks,
Sam.

Hi accord,

In VS2013 option, VA class color is wrong (default color, not the define) :

If I change this color, the change is saved, but no effect as well.

Other point, I change color in VAX parameter for Class. The new color is saved. But color for methods come back to default :

Tests was made with VS2013 under C# project. Change color paramreters under VS2012 and VS2013 ahve the same result.

Thanks.

My computer : Windows 8.1 Enterprise French x64
VS: VS2010 Ultimate, VS2012 Ultimate, VS2013 Ultimate.
