I came across this tonight:
typedef unsigned char u8;
const u8 someVar[] = ".\\\\path\\\\";


When I hover over "someVar" in source code files, the VAX popup shows:
const u8 someVar[] = ".path"

typedef unsigned char u8


It does not show the leading or trailing backslashes.

I am seeing the same effect here. Thank you for the clear description.

case=75075

The string is shown correctly for me in VS2010, but I am seeing this problem in VS2005.
