Is there a way to disable the expansion of else<ENTER> into

else
{

}

I've searched for it in snippets (but it isn't in the list, even though when I hover over it then it says 'Code snippet').

I write the body of my code before the closing brace so I find this infuriating!

I'm running 10.7.1929.

If you are using VS2012, that is VS not VA.

Delete or rename this file:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\\VC\\Snippets\\1033\\Visual C++\\else.snippet

For reference, the listing of the default VC++ snippets in listboxes is controlled by the "Disable Member List Code Snippets" option at:
Tools | Options | Text Editor | C/C++ | Advanced

Aha, thanks! It's always something simple. Weirdly enough the behavior went away when I disabled VAX.

Sorry - yes, VA is changing the selection state of the snippet. case=73604
The snippet should not be selected, just focused.
