I assumed this was going to be caught before release but apparently was not. If I do Ctrl+Alt+F that generates a "VA Find References Results" window and then double click one of the items to go to it, the IDE hangs, and then eventually crashes the app if you wait long enough. When I use the VC2012 Find All References on a symbol, I can click on any of the result items without any issue.

Thanks

I wasn't able to reproduce the hang. Can you please save out a minidump of the hang and send it in? You can read more about minidumps here:

http://docs.wholetomato.com?W303

Are you using VS2012 RC or the RTM?

Please use the following form to send the dump file in:

Please include the URL of the topic in the description field so we can match it up.

VA wasn't in the crash dump gunner10 had sent in, and we weren't able to reproduce the problem so far. The correspondence is still ongoing. (we are waiting for response)

1. Can you please save out a minidump of the hang and send it in? Your dump might be different so we may be able to get more info.

You can read more about minidumps here:
http://docs.wholetomato.com?W303

Please use the following form to send the dump file in:
http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp

Please include the URL of the topic in the description field so we can match it up.

2. If you could give us a precise step by step instruction, it might be helpful. (including where you click or what you press, etc. since the hang may be triggered on a small detail)
The best would be if you could be able to reproduce the problem in a test project which you could send in.
(But nr. 2 might not required depending on how much info we are able to get from the dump.)

3. What other Visual Studio extensions are you using? It might be a compatibility problem.

4. What Visual Studio version are you using? If VS2012: is it Beta/RC/RTM?

Minidump sent.

I'm using VS 2012 v11.0.50727.1 RTMREL.

It only seems to happen in my solution, which is a C# VS extension.

Thanks for taking the time to capture and send in minidumps. It seems the problem occurs with particular C# projects - but not all. We'll have it addressed in next week's build.
