Hi There,

I have an issue where when I'm in insert mode and I press ctrl+[ it does not consistently exit insert mode. However when I press escape it works fine.

This only happens when VAssistX is enabled. I've gone through and checked all my keybindings and it should not have this interaction.

I've tried setting both 0 and 1 for TrackCaretVisibility in the registry and it makes no difference.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

One more idea came to my mind. It might be possible that sometimes a conflicting key gets in the way. For me, these are the commands that also use ctrl+[:

You might want to consider delete or change them, on the off chance that it helps.

I've tested this using VS2017 and it seems to work for me.

- How often do you see this happening approximately? 1 in 2, 1 in 10, 1 in 100? once a day?
- Do you see any pattern that might be needed to repro? For example what you have done before, what type of code are you in (e.g. C++ vs C#), if you used a listbox just before, if you have just opened the file freshly, the way you open the file, etc. Anything that can be a trigger.
- What Visual Assist and Visual Studio versions are you using?
- What Windows version are you using?

I've downloaded this version of VsVim:
