if you have va recovery enabled, press the Explore button on the Performance page of VA Options to see if versions of the file are present in the directory that is opened in File Explorer.

Have you looked in the Windows recycle bin? Turning on the detailed view and sorted on "Date Deleted" will help if you know approximately when the file was deleted.

For VA, do you have:

VA Options -> Performance -> Enable Auto Recovery

turned On or Off? If this is turned Off then VA won't be saving out auto recovery versions of your files.

Is anything backed up in source control?

Unfortunately, that option is turned Off. sorry for late replyment.
