I get crashes when having multiple code panes open under VS2012. The crashes happen soon after opening the second pane, but I can't reproduce them reliably. I don't have any extensions other than the stock ones installed. I am working in a project with both C++ and C# files. Disabling VAX does prevent crashes.

If you need any more info let me know. Right now I'm stuck working with one code window.

I could really use this fix as well. I don't see a build 1917...?

Thanks for the report.

Build 1917 seems to have fixed this. It hasn't crashed for about an hour. Thanks.

We believe that we have identified the problem. Today or tomorrow, I will contact everyone that has reported this.

I was just coming to report this as well.

It's excruciatingly consistent. Open any two source file (.h/.inc/.cpp), put two tabs side by side so I can see both files at once (like the above poster's pic), and moments later (while editing one of the files): CRASH.

It happened over & over & over - and I finally today disabled VAX to see if it was the cause, or if VS2012 was at fault.

So far - I'm certain it was VAX (or a bug in VS2012 elicited by VAX). I was never able to do side by side editing for more than about 1-2 min. before. I've been without a crash for over half an hour (which is essentially infinitely longer than previous records).

Using VAX 10.7.1916.0 built 2012.09.11
Windows 7, SP 1, x64

@ndh Are you also using Windows 8?
Dracola Posted - Oct 22 2012 : 12:48:10 PM
I click in the text editor. Basically click left side, click non-vs window, click right side, click non-vs window, repeat. That does it eventually.

Thanks - are you clicking in VS or on the taskbar?
Dracola Posted - Oct 19 2012 : 7:30:37 PM
I was able to crash it only by clicking between visual studio and an explorer window. It takes variable amounts of time, but usually less than a minute.

Me too, after splitting the code editor window into two windows.

Could you please grab a screenshot so I can see what tool windows you have open? You can either post here or send to support via the form at http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp
Dracola Posted - Oct 18 2012 : 11:23:20 AM
Dragging one of the tabs and snapping it to the right so I have two windows side by side. I haven't tested if it still crashes if you grab a tab pull it off to any other location.

What do you mean by multi-window?
How are you opening the second pane?
