I'm working on a ue5 project and after giving up on trying to make Intellisense work and then finding visual assist, I am wondering if it works with Headers only instead of Header+Source

I have not yet tested this, but I would expect it to. The headers define the classes after all, and this is the main information VA needs to work. The first question will be if VA detects and understands your solution as an Unreal Engine project.

One thing to watch for is the install location of UE.

There is a known limitation in VA, that it wont correctly pick up the Unreal Engine directory tree if it installed outside of "C:\Program Files\"

If your UE is installed outside of this directory there is a work around, and VA will still work, its just that some of VA's special handling for Unreal Engine doesn't work correctly if UE is installed outside of this directory.
