The new VAX build does not let me "find symbol" any more.
I am using VAX on VS 2005.
I am missing the checkboxes "only symobls in this solution" and "only class names" in the dialog.

I had to go back to the previous build to use this vital function again.

A known bug?

I have just replied to the email, thank you for that! Knowing who you work for will, hopefully, give this a bit more attention. Personally I totally agree, it might look better on first opening the dialog, but it really does feel like a step back in usability.

I've sent an email with my opinion about these new dialog changes to the support address. Hope this helps to make this issue more noticeable.

I suspect the idea is to try and make the interface cleaner, but yes, making the often used settings less accessible really doesn't seem helpful.

The new reports that are run to see which cases people care about the most only pick up reports that came in via [email protected], not via the forum, so if you have time to email me about this, it should help get a bit more visibility for this issue.

Also, the same change applies to the Open File in Solution dialog, so I have added this to the same case.

I have noticed the same behavior as Christof and wanted to back up his comment about the UX downgrade. The new UI is less clear in that it hides those checkboxes behind a gear icon and the user doesn't know if they're enabled or not and has to additionally click or navigate with keyboard to check them. I've already had a few occasions where I would set one of the settings and then forget about them the next time using and ran into confusion as to why my results weren't showing up everything.

Thanks for the hint regarding the email adress.

And thanks for your practical help, how to achieve a mouseless operation.
But as you say, it is "not the same":

VA is all about making work smooth, fluent, fast.
Every details in handling counts, so this kind of "downgrade" is really hurting the principles.

I am seeing the same problem here, so I have put in a feature request to allow these settings to be changed more easily with the keyboard:

case=166007

If you really want you can use the Tab key to move focus to the settings button, and then use Space to open the settings menu. Now you have to use Enter to select and change one of the settings. Really not the same, I agree.

We have fairly new reports that track which cases people care about, but those only check emails that came into [email protected], not forum posts. So you might want to email this report to support as well, so it will get more visibility.

Just discovered: there is a Settings-Button in the top right corner.

But: this would require me to grab the mouse in order to see an switch the settings.
So far I simply could toggle the settings using the alt+shortcut keys.
Alt+S and Alt+C were my frequent tools in using this dialog.

It would be a major drawback, not to be able to use the old workflow.
