Click Item In "Find Symbol Results" Window, The new window will open in Right Part Of the doduments tab Window, the VS will cause be freezen.
My Version#65306;
Disabling VAX will no longer cause this problem.

It doesn't matter how many files there are. I only have 37 files. It matters where the document window pops up. This problem will only be triggered when it pops up on the right side of the tab bar. You can try it a few more times after closing all open document windows or try a few more projects to trigger this problem.
The above video is recorded using VAX 2024.6. Newer versions will cause VS to freeze for longer periods of time. |

Thank you for the video.
I now have some test code here that makes this dialog appear, but there is no sign of any freeze for me.
Is this freeze a solution specific problem, or do you see it in more than one solution?
How many files do you have in your solution?
If you open VA's Open File in Solution dialog (Alt-Shift-O) the title bar contains two numbers. The first number is the number of files currently listed, which changes as you filter the list. The second number is the total number of files in the list, which is normally the number of files in your solution. What is this second number? This will give me a sense of scale, in case solution size matters. |

If a function of the same name exists in both namespaces, right-click and click "Go to Definition" and this window will appear. The URL for the animation is shown above.
This problem has been around for a long time, but the freeze time in versions 2024.6 and earlier was not so long. |

How are you triggering this window to appear?
This isn't the results window from VA's Find References, and it isn't the window I get when doing an IDE Find in File.
It looks like a different Find References output window, but I am not sure how to get to it.
Have you been using this window for a while, or is it a command you have just started using? I am wondering if this has just broken, and if so, if you have any idea what might have changed to trigger this hang. |
