When you have VAX's "Open File in Solution" (alt-shift-O) dialog open, and another process on the system modifies your solution file, Visual Studio will ask whether you want to reload the solution.
If you answer yes to that dialog without first closing "Open File in Solution", Visual Studio locks up. |

Which IDE and version of VA are you using?
There is a known bug there, but I had to modify at least 2 different VCXPROJ files to trigger the problem. I have just tried modifying the SLN file in VS2022 and VA's Open File in Solution dialog open, and while I was prompted to reload, no locking up for me.
This is using using VS2022 and VA 2530.0
It seems likely you are seeing:
case=149010
But when testing this problem, if you tell the IDE to reload all of the modified projects in one go, I am not seeing the IDE lock up. |
