Posted - Jan 01 2019 : 4:47:21 PM I just installed VA on a new computer and most of the functions are disabled and not working. The toolbar looks like this:
It looks like that (and only the enabled items work - open file in solution, find symbol) whether there is a solution loaded or not. Its strange because the 2 working items seemingly depend on an open solution, but if its open and active, why cant i find references in the solution?
Thanks! Gurgeh |

Posted - Jan 01 2019 : 6:22:48 PM I'm glad it has helped. There is something about Visual Studio's extension management that resets when you do the disable-enable cycle, perhaps the extension cache? |

Posted - Jan 01 2019 : 6:20:17 PM Disabling and re-enabling it fixed the problem. Strange, though hardly unsurprising. First rule of fixing computer stuff is to 'reboot!' lol Thanks much for the quick reply.

Posted - Jan 01 2019 : 6:09:51 PM Can you access Find References in a different way? e.g. from VAssistX menu or the right-click menu? Can you please try disabling Visual Assist from the extension manager, restart Visual Studio, enable it again, and restart Visual Studio again?
You can find the extension manager here: Tools -> Extensions and Updates...
Also, what version of Visual Studio and Visual Assist are you using? |
