When refactoring a standard Visual Studio project - VA works fine. When I try to use the new version of VA on a VisualGDB project - the menu only has the "Edit REfactoring Snippits" option. On VS2013 VA worked fine on VisualGDB projects. Any hints? I'm sure somewhere deep in the config there's a checkbox to click that says "work with visualGDBprojects - but I can't find it

Let's back up. You wrote "On VS2013 VA worked fine on VisualGDB project" -- was that on a different system or the same one that you now have VS2015?

If it was the same one, then is the "VANet12" key (with the folder icon) still present at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Whole Tomato\Visual Assist X\" in the registry (on the left pane in regedit)?

The only keys I have that look useful are:
DevLang=6
UserKey (blank)
UseName= name and licence count etc...
VaxMigrated 1

Maybe we're talking about 2 different things. I'm talking about the Visual Studio GDB plugin called VisualGDB from visualgdb.com (and I love it as much as your stuff)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Whole Tomato\Visual Assist X\VANet12

Also, was there a VS GDB extension for vs2013? I'm not finding anything in the VS Gallery. I want to compare what worked in vs2013 with what doesn't work in vs2015.

When I first encountered the problem - I only checked on VS GDB projects - so I uninstalled 2013. Is there anything I can pull from svn and send? or do I have to have 2013 installed to get the settings you need?

If VA is still working in your VS2013 installation with your GDB project, then please export your VA settings from vs2013 and send them in to us using http://www.wholetomato.com/support/contact.asp

According to this blog post:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vcblog/archive/2015/11/18/announcing-the-vs-gdb-debugger-extension.aspx

There is a new VisualGDB project type for vs2015. VS2013 must have worked differently...

We haven't had a chance to investigate yet. case=93410
