Hi,
I'm using Visual Assist (version 10.8.2001.0 built 2013.9.20) in visual studio 2012 with a solution of 9 projects.
for c++ projects it works fine, however for c# projects visual studio gets very slow and scrolling down becomes very glitchy(slow).
as soon as I disable visual assist visual studio becomes normal.
Any solution?
Thanks

I have installed pretty old version.
For CodeRush version 10.2.6 my menu looks like this:

I have found this, I think you will need to restart Visual Studio:

Can you be more specific?

Unfortunately you cannot disable all extensions via the extension manager in practice, but in theory you should be able to. It depends how the extension is implemented.

It seems that disabling DevExpress isn't an option, I have to uninstall it in order to try out your suggestion!
I'll try it in a weekend and let you know.

Can you please try disabling DevExpress just temporarily in the Extension Manager to see if it makes any difference?
Tools -> Extensions and Updates...

We aren't aware of any compatibility problems between the two plug-ins, but if disabling solves the problem I will try reproducing it here.

One of our users who is using CodeRush and was experiencing problems with VA was able to solve the problem by uninstalling "Win7 Taskbar Extension". So this 3rd program caused problems between VA and Coderush for him.

I tried your suggestions and the problem is the same!

Additional Visual studio extension that I've separately installed are DevExpress only.
are there known issues with devexpress ?
I'll try your suggestion I let you know the result.

Sorry to hear that, it should not happen.

First of all, can you please try upgrading to the latest build of Visual Assist just to see if it helps?
http://www.wholetomato.com/downloads/default.asp

You will get a 7 day trial after the upgrade (if your license doesn't cover the latest build) so you can try it out and you can also go back to the old version if you decide to do so.

Some ideas to try:
- Disable VA Options -> Fonts and Colors -> Text Editors (checkbox)
- Try rebuilding your symbol databases VA Options -> Performance -> Rebuild
Do either of them make any difference?
- Do you use any other Visual Studio extensions?
