Posted - Apr 23 2015 : 03:37:36 AM Hi,
I am working on both VS2010 and VS2013, on the same machine, with the same version (latest) of Visual Assist. In VS2010, the surround selection command was available in other files than C++/C#, like for ex. .js (javascript) files. In VS2013 it does not work anymore. I compared VA and VS options on both installations, but did not find any noticeable difference.
I know that VA is not supposed to support other files than C++ or C#, but it was very convenient to be able to surround selection with /* */ or {} in javascript. Is there any reason why this does not work anymore?
VA_X.dll file version 10.9.2062.0 built 2015.04.07 DevEnv.exe version 10.0.40219.1 Premium (for VS2010) msenv.dll version 10.0.40219.1 (for VS2010) DevEnv.exe version 12.0.31101.0 Premium (for VS2013) msenv.dll version 12.0.31101.0 (for VS2013) Comctl32.dll version 6.10.9600.17415 Windows 8 6.2 Build 9200 16 processors (x86-64, WOW64) Language info: 1252, 0x40c

Posted - Apr 23 2015 : 1:14:08 PM We are focussing our efforts on C, C++ and C#, so these are the only languages VA is active in by default for a new install. To tell VA to be active in other languages as well use this setting:
http://docs.wholetomato.com/default.asp?W326
this should fix this for you, and get VS2013 doing what you are looking for. |
