Hi,
I just downloaded and installed your product Visual Assist X (free trial). When I run VS2010, Visual Assist X dosen't run automaticly. How I can run it? Add-in Manager is empty.

I have Visual Studio 2010, Windows 7 64-bit.
Thanks!

I used accords tip and I downloaded VA in .vsix file. Now it's working.
Thanks for all your advices :)

Did you use the same user account to install VA and to run VS2010? In VS2010 and above VA is installed just for the user who ran the installer.

If so, can you please download the VA 1936 installer from this page:

http://www.wholetomato.com/downloads/default.asp

when you run it, the first screen you get will list the IDE's that VA will be installed into. Is the check box for Visual Studio 2010 enabled and checked at this stage?

Which version of VS2010 are you using? We are unable to support the Express versions of the IDE, due to a design decision by Microsoft.

Can you please check your %TEMP% directory for installation logs? Type %TEMP% into your start menu's search box, press enter and check if you can find any VSIXInstaller_*.log in it. They should offer a clue about what is happening. You can send them in if you wish so we can check them for you:

Please paste the URL of this page to the description field so we can match it up.

Alternatively, you can try installing the extension from the Visual Studio extension library:
http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/D6678A1F-C700-4532-8C5E-A799D875063D

It provides a .vsix file rather than an exe.

Hi,
IDE tools menu -> Options -> Extension Manager -> Load per user extensions when running as administrator is checked, Extension Manager is empty :(

Can you please look in:

IDE tools menu -> Extension Manager...

and see if Visual Assist X is listed in the Installed Extensions list? I am guessing you will see that Visual Assist X is installed, but it is disabled. If so, please turn On:

IDE tools menu -> Options -> Extension Manager -> Load per user extensions when running as administrator

and restart VS2010. Is Visual Assist X now loading when you load VS2010? You should see a new IDE menu item "VAssistX", along with more syntax highlighting once VA has finished parsing your solution.
