Posted - Jan 02 2013 : 6:58:52 PM I have been having trouble with my VS2010 restarting when I have instructed it to exit. The restart is caused by VS getting an error during the exit process and that then invokes VS to restart. This is very annoying - hard to shutdown VS2010!! Disabling only VAX (build 1925) removed the problem.
This is information from the Application Error Log on the VS2010 crash:

Posted - Feb 11 2013 : 11:34:10 PM I have some more information to add.
I think the problem was related to the VAssistX toolbar. It was scrunched up in the top right corner of the top toolbar row. No icons were visible in it.
I didn't even know there was a VAssistX toolbar. So when I found out about it, I moved the toolbar so I could see the icons and then tested if VS2010 crashed. It no longer crashes (even if I scrunch up the toolbar again).

Posted - Jan 03 2013 : 11:45:32 PM No worries. Uploading it now. I look forward to what you find out and hopefully a fix sometime.
BTW, this problem existed for me with previous VAX release builds (I hink 1918 at least). So it has not been introduced by the last release. |
