This happens a lot. I want to test my functions against a file on the harddrive, so I hard-code it in the source.
First I fetch the path string: C:\\test\\test2\\file.txt Now I paste it in VS. Now I have to replace all '\\' with '\\\\' and surround the statement with quotes: Sigh...
Wouldn't it be nice if VAX could do the above? I know this has already been implemented in the VC# 2005 editor.
A very interesting idea. I have put in a feature request to paste the clipboard as a C style string, escaping any problem characters. This would also be useful for regular expressions and any other complex strings that get copy / pasted into the editor:
