To help spell check resource files, it would be great to have an option that tells the spell checker to ignore embedded '&' characters. The ampersand is used for the hotkey specifier. So, for example, "S&chematic" would be spell checked as "Schematic"

While on the subject of spell checking, could it be enabled for .txt files please.

I would like to get it enabled for .txt files too.
Maybe this helps to kick it somewhat higher on the wish list

.TXT file spell checking can be enabled in the following way.
registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Whole Tomato\\Visual Assist X\\VANet8]
"ExtSource"=".c;.cpp;.cc;.cxx;.tli;.txt;"
After this fix and a restart of visual studio.
The spellchecker works for .txt files (you need to edit the .txt file for the spell checker to kick in) |

Very interesting.
Spell checking should be available in the next beta release of VA, but no underlining just yet. |

Has the spell checker been updated to ignore the ampersand in the 1600-series builds?

| Not yet. It is being looked at internally, but until it is actually done and working I hesitate to give any form of estimate on when this will be done. |
