I was looking for an option that is in fact possible, but much hidden:

I suggest that you gather this, as well as all registry-hidden options, inside a "advanced tab".
For example, this option, which was requested +10 years ago, should almost be a standard (I believe, more cross-platform code is written today).
But without a good knowledge of VA and its little secrets, one will not find this option. And this is a pity. |

We are considering adding all of the registry settings to the options dialog, perhaps as an advanced options page:

we are trying to find a good balance between having the options people want, and keeping the options dialog fairly simple and easy to understand, so we don't swamp you with options. |
