| Sometimes it would be nice to have the same completion mecanism from the code editor window in the Find/replace text boxes too. Context could be automatically the selection in the find window (project, solution, selection, current document, open documents, etc) |

That makes so much sense, yet I don't think I have ever thought of this before. Feature request has just gone in:

The search scope, I am not so sure this would work well, since at least for me, I tend to just run the Find, and only change / fix the scope later when I realise that it is set to the wrong value. This works for me since I don't tend to change the scope often, but it does mean that the scope is unreliable for telling VA what sort of symbols I might be searching for.
In case you don't already know about it, there is the VA keyboard shortcut "FindSelected", which is mapped to Alt-K by default, to do an IDE find for the symbol the caret is currently sitting in. Not the same thing, but helpful to know about. |
