Now that this feature has been removed from VS 2011, it would be a GREAT addition to Visual Assist. Don't need the fancy ide and stuff, just a simple, start record, stop record, play (and optionally play til end of file or play x times)

This is an interesting idea. I have put in a feature request to see what our developers make of it. I cannot see us trying to recreate the complete IDE macro system, but simple recording and playing back of key strokes might just happen:
