| That would be a really nice thing if I could choose which editor to use when opening a file in the workspace. Just like right-clicking on a file in the solutions view, and selecting "Open with..." |

well, i had just selected 6 resource files and happily hit enter... just to be disappointed that VS loaded all the resource files in the resource editor. *sigh*
Cant we have that little drop down button beside the OK (which should be Open) button which opens a menu to select an action from? Please? |

that is probably a better plan than right clicking on the files. for the action list i presume anything present in the IDE's "open with" list is suitable?
the real question is, how should this pick list function. should it default to the standard editor for a file type each time you open the OFIW, or should it retain your last selection? |

I dont know if that list is accessable, but yes, it would be nice (maybe even with a custom entry?)
As for the how: I think its more or less already standard that the button does the default action (open with the default editor for the file type) and clicking on the drop down, lets you choose something else. |

i thought i would check this time, instead of assuming that i was visualising the same thing you were :)
i have closed case=851 and opened
case=856
in its place, since this is much more suitable for what you are after here, and it seems like a much better plan. |
