I would like to give some suggestions to VA View:

  • Provide more shortcut keys to control it:

    • Shortcut key to toggle the "Pin" button. Press once will pin, press again will unpin. This is especially useful when "Update on position change" is enabled.

    • Shortcut key to toggle "Update on position change".

    • Shortcut key to focus Hovering Class Browser result

  • One thing I don't understand is the Hovering Class Browse textbox (the one on the left of the Pin button). Is it meant for user to enter something? I couldn't enter anything but I can delete part or all of the text.

Thank you very much.

Build 2007 adds the following VA View commands for which you can create your own bindings:
VAssistX.VAViewHCB
VAssistX.VAViewMRU
VAssistX.VAViewHCBToggleLock
VAssistX.ListIncludeFiles

Also note that when focus is placed on the Pin button, a press of the space bar toggles the state of the lock.

case=61109 and case=66807 are fixed in build 2007.

We are already considering adding a bindable keyboard command to place focus directly into the Hovering Class Browser part of VA View:

case=61109

I have added a case for these other two keyboard commands, since these are good suggestions:

case=66805

As for the field next to the pin button, this is so that you can easily copy the name, or part of the name, of the current class, enum, etc, that is being shown in the Hovering Class Browser. Since this is read only, being able to delete is a bug:

case=66807
