Small VA bug:

I am using a msvc project generator (gyp, but that could be any other). When I add a new source file and regenerate the project, visual studio detects the updated project, and offers me: "do you want to reload the solution"?
I say yes and everything works fine... except that VA is not aware of the added file: if I open the VA file browser, the new file can't be found.

To solve the problem, I just have to close and reopen the solution.

A bit boring because my solution is big, hence this takes time...

case=116501 is addressed in build 2283.

case=116673 is addressed in build 2283 when using solution mode. There is still an issue with switching branches while in folder mode.

The problem with switching of git branches is unrelated to the problem originally reported. Opened case=116673 for git branching.

It seems that 'Reload Project' works correctly. The next release should have 'Reload Solution' working properly. Until then, try using 'Reload Project.'

Thank you for the update, so this is happening a bit more widely. I don't yet have an estimate for when this will be fixed, but we are now looking into this problem.

It's also happening when switching git branches and solution is reloaded in the background by VS 2017.

I am seeing the same problem here. This does look similar to the previous bug that I was remembering, but the fix for the previous bug clearly does not help here. I have put in a bug report for this:

case=116501

Unfortunately the only work around I am finding so far is to unload and reload the solution.

This happens with the latest VS 2017 15.7.1

Which IDE and version of VA are you using?

If you are using VS2017 and have not installed the latest updates, can you please try doing so? Also, if you are not using the latest version of VA, can you please try doing so?

This sounds familiar, where VA is not detecting changes to the solution in VS2017, but from memory has been fixed with the latest updates.
