For stability reasons MS disabled their own navigation bar (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2013/07/16/javascript-editor-improvements-in-visual-studio-2013-preview.aspx).
But I was hoping there is some way of enabling the visual assist navigation bar instead? It is enabled in the options, but it doesn't show up in the editor when I have a javascript file open.

Posted - May 26 2014 : 12:43:32 PM You can do this by setting VA to be active in additional programming languages, as explained here:
http://docs.wholetomato.com/default.asp?W326
this enables VA's Context and Definition fields in .JS files.
I had not noticed that VS2013 removed the navigation bar from JS files, interesting, thank you for the link. |
