Hi

I use it in Japan.

On problems that occur when multibyte characters are used

If it contains several kanji, it will fail with:

 VA Outline
 Extract Nethod
 Other ...

An example
shift_jis, cp 932
https://charset.uic.jp/show/cp932/

These characters are 2 byte characters including 0x5c.

This character is often used in Japan.

I hope that you will be able to deal with it.

Unfortunately VA can have problems with Unicode, multi-byte characters. This is something we are working on, but have not fully fixed:

case=5792

If you set the Windows settings for Non-unicode programs to Japanese this should help a bit. Under Windows 10, go into Control Panel -> Region -> Advanced tab, and set:

Change system locale... = Japanese
