Thank you for finding that IDE setting, it certainly makes it easier to see what is coming from VA and what is coming from the IDE. I have put in a bug report for this not respecting the find settings:

case=163989

I took a test & ensure that it belongs to vs's self wired behaviour.

btw:

I fix it by the settings: (hope it can helps others in future)

Does VA actually jump to the upper case MATERIAL, or is it just being highlighted?

Testing VS2022 on a machine where VA has never been installed, and is not installed, I did a case sensitive, whole word match find for "simple", and I get the following result. Note that instances with the wrong case, and part of other words are being highlighted, but IDE Find won't jump to any of them.
