Posted - May 17 2023 : 06:51:48 AM I currently work with VS 2019. I already installed 2022. VS 20109 was installed before.
Not I saw that that the settings of VAX in VS 2022 are different to VS 2019.
Why?
I would like to have my old settings to be transferred to a new installed VAX when I install a newer supported VS version.
Also transferring the settings isn't so easy. I have to open the reg file. Delete all VANetxx entries of settings I don't want to transfer. Rename the node to VANetyy of the version I want to restore the settings...
Double click. Also I saw that all settings of all version are included in the REG file. Also this isn't needed.
Just my 2 cents. |

Posted - May 17 2023 : 10:32:29 AM The settings export and import system isn't the most fancy, but it works fairly well when moving from one system to another. But yes, it doesn't make it easy to migrate your settings from one version of Visual Studio to a newer version. This is something we are looking into, including improving the ability to migrate settings:
