In the Snippet menu, all items receive auto generated shortcuts which is nice but not helpful when you have like 10 items starting with "i" because all have "i" as shortcut.
Although, you can change the snippet title to include the ampersand (&) to indicate which letter you'd like to have as shortcut in the menu.
This behavior is not documented on the help page but works just fine and is quite helpful.
