Hello,
Is it possible to scope 'Open File in Solution' and 'Find Symbol' to current project or specified set of ones?
If solution have huge amount of 3rd-parties or rarely changing libraries, usability of solution-wise search tools significantly decreases.

We are considering adding a filter to limit the scope of Find Symbol to the current solution, so it makes sense to consider a similar filter for Open File, I have put a note onto the case about this:
case=88013
For now, have you considered having a smaller "editing" project, that only contains the projects you are working on, while linking to the other projects for compiling? Since you would only need to add the existing project files to a new solution it would be fairly quick to make such a solution, if this would work for you.
Alternatively, you can filter the Open File dialog by directory, and use several search terms separated by a space in both dialogs, which can help you quickly focus on the item you want, if it has a fairly unique name. |
