Throughout various coding disciplies, we often have callback/delegate situations where we take a value name, e.g an entry in an enum or a struct, and then we create callback or handler functions.
It would be useful if there was a "Goto Variant" option (alt-shift-g?) which took the current label and applied a set of rules to it to suggest functions/structs to jump to.
E.g. if I have a "struct HelloWorld" and a function named "HelloWorld_Delegate" or "OnHelloWorld" or "HelloWorld_Handler", I'd like to have it suggest those functions.
Probably needs an accompanying option to let you specify variants, e.g.
*_Delegate (if your convention is thing_Delegate)
On* (for OnThing event handler notation).

Are you familiar with VA's Find Symbol dialog, Alt-Shift-S:
http://www.wholetomato.com/products/features/sis.asp
if you open the dialog and type, or paste in the symbol name "HelloWorld" all symbols containing HelloWorld will be listed, at which point you can easily add a further filter to narrow down the list to just the items you are interested in, so perhaps the filter "HelloWorld on" or "HelloWorld delegate".
I realise this is not as direct, but it is more flexible, and will hopefully help. |
