If you already have one IDE installed, e.g. Microsoft Visual C++ 6, with Visual Assist X installed and working in this IDE, and then install a second IDE, e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, on the same machine Visual Assist X will not work inside the second IDE at first.
When you install Visual Assist X the installer registers Visual Assist X with all supported IDE's that it finds on your machine.
So when you install the second IDE Visual Assist X does not know anything about it, and has not been registered with this IDE, so does not work with this IDE.
Simply re-install your current version of Visual Assist X and the installer will register Visual Assist X with the newly installed IDE (assuming the IDE is supported) and then Visual Assist X will work as expected in this new IDE as well as your existing IDE. |
