In particular, we use identifiers in the form of XXX-nnnn for bug tracking, where XXX is the project designation and nnnn is a numeric ID.
Unfortunately, VA does not allow dashes in hashtags.

case=90329 is a feature request for the general request to support non-alpha/non-numeric characters in hashtags.
Bug tracking wasn't something for which we envisioned hashtags would be useful. How were you hoping to use hashtags like the XXX-nnnn example?

Using the bug-id as a hashtag in a comment will allow easily finding all the places in the code that are related to it.
Yes, our source control software is old.

Basically I want to use the JIRA bug number for both SourceLinks and Hashtags.
Unfortunately, hashtags only recognize XXXnnnn while Sourcelinks can recognize XXX-nnnn but not XXXnnnn.

case=90329 is partially implemented in build 2073 as an optional enhancement.
In 2073, the registry value named HashtagsAllowHyphens defaults to 00.
Change it to 01 for VA to display hashtags with dash/hyphen in the hashtags toolwindow.

Sorry -- I should have been more clear. 90329 is partially implemented in that the hashtags are now listed in the hasthags toolwindow.
Goto functionality from within the editor is not implemented -- still open at this point.

Goto and Goto Related failing to work with hyphenated tags was addressed in case=109520.
case=109520 is fixed in build 2231. |
