To move Visual Assist X and your license from one computer to another, perhaps due to upgrading your computer, all you need to do is uninstall Visual Assist X on the old computer, and install Visual Assist X on your new computer.

You will need to enter your license key into the new computer at the end of the trial period, but this is all.

If you want to move your VA and IDE settings across then all you need to do is to export them on the old computer and import them on the new computer. You can do this via:

VA Options -> Performance -> Export Settings
IDE tools menu -> Import and Export Settings -> Export selected environment settings

Please note the exported VA settings do not contain your license key, so even after importing your settings you will still need to re-enter your license key.

Your VA Snippets are stored in the directory:

%APPDATA%\VisualAssist\Autotext\

and your downloaded dictionaries and custom words are stored in the directory:

%APPDATA%\VisualAssist\Dict\

You can simply copy these directories across to your new computer, for the correct user account, and VA will pick them up when the IDE next loads.
