I find it rather odd that VAX will color some if the BCL namespaces as variables as shown below.

Is this correct? Does this occur to anyone else?

This may be related to the other issue in 1430/32 where it displays the mistyped symbols squiggle. In this particular file, the types from the Globalization namespace and the Collections.Specialized are underlined with the mistyped symbol indicator.

VS 2005 Pro, C#, VAX Build 1432.

This is definately related to the other problem, I started checking other code files in the same project. In every instance where the using statements acted as shown in the screenshot, the mistyped symbol squiggle appeared for every type from that particular namespace.

this could be related to the fixed bug

case=825

can you try the line:

using System.Commections.Generic;

and check how this is coloured please. this is the test case i was using for this bug.

using System.Commections.Generic

This is colored correctly in the simple test I just did.

Here is the screen shot...

i am guessing that DirectoryInfo comes from System.IO and that CultureInfo comes from System.Globalization

if so then that bit makes sense, but this still does not explain the other underlining.

You are correct. In my other projects, in almost every case, if the using statement is colored like a variable, the types contained within that namespace show up underlined as a mistyped symbol. There are others that show up underlined occasionally, mainly Generics, but the using statement for generics is ok.
