Hello Whole Tomato, There appears to be an issue as you may already know on the whole tomato forums with spammers. Although you do have a delete button to remove the spam from the forum, forum members like me who subscribe to a thread for any changes will get a notification when the forum changes (ie: someone spams the forum). What I was thinking you guys could do is delete the spammers accounts, and then add a security code feature to the registration feature, so that the automated bots would not be automatically generated every bloody second. These spammers are not listening as they keep spamming (I would suspect this to be a spam script running). If my above mentioned actions do not work, log their IP addresses, and find out where these people are comming from because it is annoying the heck out of us Whole Tomato forum users. For instance, now I dare not post any bugs or suggestions that I find in for your software because if I subscribe to the thread, every hour or couple of hours I get notified that bottle3 or some other spammer has replied to my thread, which just clogs up my email. I hope my advice helps.
Sincerely,
James Simpson |

They're coming from Israel, as far as my WhoIs investigations told me. Everytime a new bunch of postings is made, they come from the same IP, which changes from time to times (at every "longer" break this guy makes).
It definitely looks like a script, and a very bad one, I might add...
I do understand your anger, I feel for you (as I am the one who deletes them as soon as I see them while you american guys are sleeping ) and we will keep on searching for a solution to keep this guy out of these boards...

How about making forums writable to VAX registered users only?

| probably not an ideal solution, since anyone who is evaluating a trial version will be unable to get support via the forums. |

It would be enough if your Account here on the forum would have to be confirmed, activated by a link in the mail you get after registering. I hardly doubt these accounts all have a valid email-address...
