If I have a ClassWithAVeryLongName and I want to use the Alt-M drop-down to go to the constructor I have to type ClassWithAVeryLongName::C before it narrows my choices down to the constructor (at least).

It would be nice if I could just type ::C

I know the search matches sub-chars of methods but that doesn't work for the constructor.

cheers
Rob

I have put in a feature request for "::", it makes a lot of sense now you have suggested it The end of the class name works, but as you say, its not as simple, but hopefully it is a useful enough work around for now.

Personally I always tend to put the constructor at the top of the file, making it easy to find that way, but that only works if your files are organised like that.

ok your suggestion "name.cla" does work. I'd still like a "::" option though so I don't have to think about what the trailing letters of my long class name are ;)

thanks

That makes sense, I have put in a feature request for this to see what our developers make of it:

case=93343

for now, have you considered using the filter "name.cla" ? The end of the class name, to make sure the dot works as the separator, then as much of the class name as is required to filter out the constructor?

Another thought, if the constructor is at the top of the class, is to jump to it via VA Outline:
