A possibly easier solution for VS2010 and above, simply go into:

IDE tools menu -> Extension Manager...

and search for Visual Assist in the online gallery, and install from there.

thanks for your reply,I have got the answer in your forum.

1. goto %Temp%,clear it.

2.when diolag prompt "install completely..." appeared, hold on but
make "VaXSetup.vsix" a copy. then dismiss it.

3. install it by using copied "VaXSetup.vsix",then run vs2010. everything OK!

Hope this may help others.

best wishes!

For VS2010 and above, VA is only installed for the current user, so the first thing is did you install as the current user? If you right clicked the installer and did run as Adminstrator, can you please run the installer normally instead.

If you have installed VA as the current user, can you please try turning On:

IDE tools menu -> Options -> Extension Manager -> Load per user extensions when running as administrator

and restarting VS2010.

If this does not fix the problem, please look in:

IDE tools menu -> Extension Manager...

and see if Visual Assist is listed as an installed extension. It might be installed but disabled. If so please Enable VA and restart the IDE.
